Welcome to North Stonehouse
It was a pleasure to bring together my illustrations of North Stonehouse together to create an illustrated map of the area. The illustrations encompassed the area's varied history, which includes notable Victorian buildings, the removal of the trainline to the docks which dominated the trades and workforces of the area, and post-war redevelopments and housing estates.
North Stonehouse is an area which is currently in flux after many years of neglect and social issues. Local community groups such as Cliik and The Friends of Wydnham Square are working to make the area feel more loved - they are funding murals, paintings and visible community projects to enable local people to care more about their home.
